The world knows the richest person on earth and year in year out, there is a list of who are the richest persons on earth.
The determination of who is the richest on this earth is done by those who take time to calculate the assets of business men and women across the world.
This assessment of the wealth of the richest persons on earth gives an idea of who they are and how powerful they are.
How much are you worth? Do you match up to the big shots who, have made it in life by one means or the other and have become the most prominent persons of their time.
In the past, the Bible spoke of many rich men and women who walked the earth and displayed great wealth.
Solomon was one of the richest persons that ever lived. Bible says, “And the king (Solomon) made silver and gold as common in Jerusalem as stone, and he made cedar as plentiful as the sycamore of Shephelah.” 2 Chronicles 1:15.
With all this wealth Solomon one day died and left behind all the gold, silver and wealth he accumulated during his days on earth. Today, it is difficult to track the wealth he left behind. None of what he had on earth could go to the grave with him.
Some great men and women, very rich and influential, left behind everything they gathered on earth and headed to the grave as empty-handed as the day they were delivered of their mothers.
Bible says, “For we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world” 1 Timothy 6:7.
Indeed, whatever we own on this earth never belongs to us; we just managed to gather it and we are expected to use it whilst we are on earth and to leave it behind when our time is over. It is just like renting a well furnished apartment and using it over a period of time and leaving everything intact as you came to see it.
Human are souls that have put on flesh to be able to live on earth; they use what they find on earth and use it to fulfill their missions on earth.
Therefore, no one is worth what they have gathered. The true assessment of a person’s worth has nothing to do with wealth or how much money a person has on earth for, “….a man’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions” Luke 12:15.
God doesn’t assess our lives by what we possess in material terms, but in how rich our souls are.
You are a soul living in a flesh and having a spirit. You are a soul and to be rich means to make the soul part of you rich.
When the time spent on earth is over, the soul remains and goes beyond the grave where it is to spend eternity. Your true worth is then known after death.
The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof so no one owns anything on this earth. In fact, claiming ownership of anything of this earth is like fighting God over His property.
Those who managed to settle on fallow lands in the past, assumed ownership without asking of who created the land.
What we own is the soul which we would account for. We would give account of whether we have made the soul richer or poorer with the kind of lives we lived.
We spend so much time acquiring riches on this earth to satisfy our flesh and claim ownership of what we gather but do little to grow the soul for which we shall be accountable.
“For what will it profit a man, if he gains the whole world and forfeits his life?….” Matthew 16:26.
The life of the soul is very crucial to our lives on this earth and we need to spend all our time to enrich the soul so that when our time is over on this earth, we can live in eternity with joy.
“The Lord entreats us to “lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal” Matthew 13:44.
Our true worth is how much we store in heaven, not on earth. Whatever treasure we store here shall remain here when we are gone; but whatever treasure we store in heave remains in heaven forever for us.
We shall all give account of our live some day and show how much we are worth. The cars, the mansions and fat accounts we had on earth would be nowhere to be found except the soul-in what state would your soul be?
Once again, I would like to ask you, “How much are you worth?
