The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has announced the extension of the deadline for submission of works for its 22nd Awards Ceremony scheduled to take place on December 20, 2017 at the Banquet Hall, State House in Accra.
In a statement signed by its president, Affail Monney, the Association stated that the deadline has been moved from November 3 to 16.
The annual awards ceremony, held in the month of August, is to recognize journalists whose works stood out in the year 2016.
Journalists are invited to submit works for the four major categories, including feature, sports, investigative journalism and general reporting, among others.
One journalist would emerge as the GJA Best journalist of the year. Ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas emerged overall best Journalist in last year’s event.
This year’s award ceremony has been delayed due to a dispute over the election of executives of the GJA with regard to the legitimacy of the voters register, among others.
The way was paved for the awards following credible elections that saw Affail Monney retaining his position as president.
